This artwork, like all my iconic pieces, was created from a charcoal sketch of a live model. My aim here is to capture the fluid and delicate essence of the female form, blending minimalism with oriental art. The ink lines are imbued with emotion, suggesting more than they reveal, inviting contemplation. My iconic pieces will bring you energy and subtle elegance, transforming your space into a haven of serenity and refined beauty.
"Yves Dimier's… iconic works revolve around a single axis, the idea of which is given to us through the revolutions of the brush.
Hence it is that they are always more or less the same and always different: always singular convolutions from the same center.
One day, I believe, Yves Dimier will grasp the center. But then he will no longer paint. – Sébastien Blanc
Yves Dimier, a painter and calligrapher trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and a passionate devotee of visual arts, turned to Chinese calligraphy, a discipline he has explored with enthusiasm for over twenty years. His technique combines powerful strokes with delicate illusions, merging writing and drawing into a contemporary form where gesture takes precedence. His style, centered on the "inner contour of things," transcends the visible to evoke the invisible. In his works, he conveys a quest for peace, love, and spiritual elevation, inviting the viewer to experience the profound, ephemeral yet essential nature of the gesture.
