About this artwork
Bursts of color and movement, a wealth of semitones and nuances, the pleasure of abstract art in its purest form. The abstract is this freedom to create without the constraints of reality which imposes on us strict rules of balance, of perspectives of reality which have always been imposed on us. In this work, I see a ballerina slightly in profile, her arms in the air and making a big dance step. Her multicolored costume explodes with light silks…

Yves Thomas is an experienced artist from Canada whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. Originally working as a photographer, Thomas eventually turned to painting, becoming passionate about color and movement. He creates abstract paintings in acrylic on canvas where he experiments with fluidity and a variety of colors, resulting in dynamic artworks.
