About this artwork
This canvas can evoke both a paradisiacal lagoon, a network of synapses and neurons, a view of the Earth seen from the ISS, the seabed, a 5G network, cities at night, a cartography of the relief of mountains, galaxies or nebulae, or anything else....A leap into the abyss? technological? By parachute? Dolphin?
Yves went voluntarily and locally to the bottom, to the canvas. Where is the bottom? How far will our big leap go? What apprehension do we… have when diving, getting involved, investing? Are we staying on the surface or is this the big leap? Are we going gradually or are we ready to be totally involved from the start? to accelerate our knowledge of ourselves, our environment or to push the limits?
Presented at the Luxembourg Art Price in 2021, Yves received a certificate of artistic merit.

From the infinitely small to the celestial immensity, Yves explores visual emotions and the respective interactions between man and the cosmos.
Because painting space is not just about representing stars or nebulae. It is about questioning our place in the whole. It is about paying homage to the science that measures and explains genesis and matter, to the man who explores or exploits, to the philosophy that questions, to the passing of time, to the spatial environment.
Painting space is inviting the viewer to become an explorer in turn, not to conquer, but to contemplate and question.
Coming from a scientific background and with experience in the space industry, alongside an affinity for painting, Yves' artistic work is part of this quest, that of making the elusive visible.
