This delightful little knitted character is a handmade gnome called Giswelt. He has that classic whimsical, storybook charm, a plump, friendly pink face with big expressive ears, rosy cheek, tiny black embroidery eyes and wide endearing smile that instantly makes him look cheerful and approachable.
His outfit is simple and rustic dark green knitted overalls (complete with little textured details and straps) over his body, paired with a wide brimmed… green hat edged in a darker trim, giving a folksy, woodland feel. A touch of white hair, suggesting and older, wise character.
Overall, it is warm, lovingly handmade piece. The skeleton is made from wire to help him to stand. For body and face I used needle felting technique to shape. The level of detail in the knitting (smooth stocking stiches on the body, textured element on the clothes). if you are into handmade creatures, this one got that special "instant friend"quality!
