About this artwork
This sculpture captures the dynamic tension between industrial strength and graceful geometry. Using cement and metal, I created a powerful dialogue. It brings raw energy and modern elegance into any space, inviting viewers to explore the interplay of shapes and materials up close. Open Trio explores the balance, tension, and honesty required in a 3-person relationship that exists without secrecy. I created this sculpture as a physical expression…
of openness—where connection is visible, structure is exposed, and nothing is hidden behind illusion. The 3 interlocking forms represent 3 individuals bound together through choice rather than convention. Each curve relies on the others for its stability, yet each maintains its own distinct presence. The negative spaces are just as important as the solid steel—they symbolize trust and vulnerability. I chose raw, oxidized steel for its strength and its scars. The surface carries time, pressure, and imperfection, much like human relationships.
