About this artwork
Aparigraha whose name means “non-attachment, detachment” in Sanskrit. This painting offers us a panoramic view, inviting our gaze to circulate through interior and exterior spaces that fit together and reveal their distortions. The canvas successively reveals landscapes ranging from the Great Rift Valley to Sardinia. The image distorts, stretches, superimposes and fits into this shaped intermediate space, playing with perspectives.
This place of… passage, this in-between, connects the West and Africa, architecture and nature, the built and the organic, the mass and the unique. It bears witness to a hybrid space where contrasts meet.
