About this artwork
This painting captures the familiar stretch of Herzliya Beach — the wooden lifeguard tower, white umbrellas, and the endless horizon where sky meets sea. It’s a study of light, balance, and the tranquility that exists in ordinary coastal moments.
Zohar Flax is a painter and sculptor based in Israel whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. Her art explores themes relating to nature, urban environments, still lifes, the sea, and the kibbutz. Flax creates in a figurative manner and paints from observation or from photographs, using a grid on the canvas to transfer images.
