About this artwork
This fascinating artwork on paper presents the legendary Jaguar E-Type not merely as a car, but as a perfect sculpture in the moment of its transformation. The body is immersed in a chemical bath, where the old paint is dissolved. Symbolically, the paint drips from the metal – like an elegant garment gently falling to the ground, revealing the essence of the car.
Beneath the fading layer of paint, the classic's naked soul is revealed in a masterful… aluminum-steel effect. The metallic surface gleams raw, pure, and unadulterated. To maximally emphasize this intimate moment of unveiling, the entire surroundings are kept in deep darkness. The black space makes the silver Jaguar sculpture appear to float.
The work celebrates the timeless perfection of the E-Type's form by showing that even without paint, reduced to pure metal, this icon remains an absolute work of art.
