A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - This collection reads ballet through art history and motion. From court spectacle to Romantic theatre and today’s contemporary stages, ballet refines the body into line and musical time. Across painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography, artists translate technique into image: arabesque as geometry, port de bras as flowing contour, balances and turns suspended between breath and gravity. Some works hold sculptural stillness; others blur velocity so light becomes a partner. Varied materials - graphite notation, ink wash, impasto arcs, long-exposure grain - offer distinct visions of the same discipline. Together they reveal ballet’s double nature: rigorous craft and radiant motion, where form becomes feeling and movement, memory.
