About this artwork
Female figures lie and sit relaxed in front of a background in soft and strong shades of blue. The drawings are superimposed and are continued around the edges of the wooden body, which leads to a surprising three-dimensional impression. Depending on the point of view, completely different views result. This very narrow format requires concentrated work from the artist and enables particularly exciting compositions. Alexandra Hiltl's drawing bodies…
are particularly in demand with collectors, as they uniquely combine extreme formats with the art of drawing. All drawing bodies are always drawn directly onto the image carrier with a model that is actually present. The artist adds color and iridescent accents in further work steps.

« Each of my pictures should appear as if a little bit of color had happened by chance, formed into a composition in a miraculous way, but could disappear again at any time. »
Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
