About this artwork
Several female figures lie on an abstract surface. They radiate tension and relaxation at the same time. The figures are embedded in gray and beige tones, in the background you can see more women on closer inspection. As different materials were used, e.g. acrylic, ink and charcoal, the people have a different presence. The result is a moving and multi-layered picture that nevertheless radiates calm. shines very nobly when light falls on it. The artist also uses metal dust as a pigment, which has a slightly rusty shimmer. This material goes very well with the handcrafted steel frame in which the work was framed. The picture can also be delivered without a frame on request.

Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
