About this artwork
Nereids are nymphs in Greek mythology. Aquatic beings that live in the vastness of the sea. These female figures float in a bright room shimmering in shades of blue and are washed over by a wave. In the background you can see other figures swimming and drifting. Gold shines in the hares of the beautiful nymphs, who appear relaxed and seductive. This picture is dedicated to the beauty and lightness of life. The light gold makes it look very classy…
and elegant. The different shades of blue flow over the canvas and result in a wonderful play of colors. The artist uses handmade paints made with high-tech pigments. The canvas is mounted on a very high-quality aluminum frame, which is why it can also be placed in rooms with more moisture (spa, bathroom, wellness area) without any problems.

« Each of my pictures should appear as if a little bit of color had happened by chance, formed into a composition in a miraculous way, but could disappear again at any time. »
Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
