About this artwork
Two seated female nudes are arranged opposite one another on the picture surface. The mood and movement of the women were captured with concentrated graphite and ink lines. The poses of the figures are reminiscent of yoga postures and radiate both relaxation and sensuality. This is staged particularly effectively with the use of gold and bronze pigments that shimmer in the light. The sheet shows not just a snapshot, but a chronological sequence.…
Alexandra Hiltl always works with a real model in the studio, which means that her nudes radiate a special authenticity and liveliness. Concentrated, exciting compositions are created on pure rag paper, some with a deckle edge. The painting is unframed and can be integrated into different living styles according to the customer's taste thanks to the individual framing.

« Each of my pictures should appear as if a little bit of color had happened by chance, formed into a composition in a miraculous way, but could disappear again at any time. »
Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
