About this artwork
Several women are moving in front of a gray and white abstract background. Some have sexy poses, others seem completely relaxed. They radiate tension, eroticism and relaxation at the same time. Here many more drawings were put on top of each other, partially blurred or painted over until the composition was finished. A temporal sequence of movement is captured artistically. On closer inspection, you can see other files in the background. The main…
character has mysterious traits and looks challengingly at the viewer. As different materials were used, e.g. acrylic, ink and charcoal, the people have a different presence. The result is a moving and multi-layered picture that nevertheless radiates calm. Thanks to the high-tech copper and gold mica pigments, the painting shines very elegantly when light falls on it. The effect of the work of art changes depending on the incidence of light.

« Each of my pictures should appear as if a little bit of color had happened by chance, formed into a composition in a miraculous way, but could disappear again at any time. »
Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
