About this artwork
This work was created in the aftermath of the Beirut port explosion on August 4, 2020. In the lower right corner of the composition, a falling cedar symbolizes the suffering endured by the Lebanese people during this deadly explosion. The cedar touches what may appear to be an explosion in the upper right corner. The blue used in this painting symbolizes the hope for peace in Lebanon.
