About this artwork
In this work, I used the contrast between the intense, deep blue and the crumpled red can to depict the tension between purity and transience. With minimalist means, I want to encourage the viewer to see the everyday in a new light and to discover beauty in simplicity. The energy of this image brings calm and contemplation to any room.
I was born in Berlin-Pankow on October 25, 1971, and grew up in Berlin-Friedrichshain. I attended the Heinrich Zille Elementary School. Afterwards, I completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and later as a tile setter. My interest in art began in school during art classes, where some of my works (watercolors and linocuts) were even shown at the children's and youth art exhibition. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to study art formally. I consider myself a self-taught artist who enjoys experimenting with new craft techniques. My main focus is on mosaics, which I create on wooden surfaces. My second interest is acrylic painting.
