About this artwork
In the next few days I will want to present three new drawings, which are again a nice proof that pen drawings can definitely lead to painterly qualities without having to lose the typical character of the lines. So if the various colored glazes, which are of course applied step by step, increasingly overlay the original drawing, fade it a little, the corresponding color areas have to be traced over and over again. This results in a refreshing interplay…
between the individual color glazes and a steadily thickening, accentuated stroke.

Andreas Noßmann is a draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the Netherlands. Having always been fascinated by topics that touch or disturb, his artistic practice is also marked by his requirement for "a perfect graphic implementation". Noßmann's distinctive and diverse landscapes, portraits, and still-lifes are created with pastels, graphite, pencils, India ink, chalk, and charcoal on paper, canvas, or cardboard.
