Together with her numerous daughters, the waves of the sea, she farmed and raised livestock on the seabed. Anja Stemmer is an emerging contemporary artist living in Germany. Influenced by expressionists such as Hans Hartung and Pierre Soulages, she uses strong colours and gestural elements, which she skilfully combines with the expressive possibilities of fluid colours. Her works balance spontaneous expression with the intention to convey courage, confidence and a sense of departure. She is passionate about experimenting with binders, pigments and substrates to further enhance these qualities.
