About this artwork
Water flows. Last year there was flooding on the Danube for several weeks. Incredible amounts of water flowed past the city walls and dams. The power of the water was breathtakingly beautiful and at the same time frightening. As a human, I stood speechless in the face of this sight. I processed the impression of this experience in the painting "Flowing". Deep green-blue shows the movement of the river, in the upper area you can see the white spray.… Gray graphite traces form a calm background for the movement of the colors. The movement of the water is reinforced by the visible brush marks and various processing marks. The combination of high-quality pigments, paint spray and chalks creates a luminous reality.
Anna Eibl-Eibesfeldt is an artist from Germany. In her gestural paintings and innovative ceramics, she explores the potential uses of recycled materials and the enhancement and transformation of existing structures. Intensely colorful layering, superimposition, and contrasts of form and color are central themes in her work, both in surface and space. She studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg under Prof. Christine Colditz and in Munich under Prof. Horst Sauerbruch. She was able to expand her knowledge with a scholarship abroad at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Genoa. She received further inspiration for her work from Jime Dine at the Summer Academy in Salzburg. She has been living in the Bavarian Forest for several years and works there or in her studio in Regensburg. Since 2004 she has worked as a freelance painter and art educator.
