Before Ans picked up her paintbrush, she was a fashiondesigner and organized fashionshows at The Britannia and made 48 trips with that ship. In 1980 she founded her own modeling/casting agency, which grew into one of the best-known agencies in the Netherlands. Her expertise as castingdirector led to invitations for television programs, where she shared her insights into the world of film and commercials. In 2002 Ans sold her agency, took a long sabbatical and traveled through SouthAfrica. This trip marked the beginning of her artistic adventure. Ans' paintings are a reflection of her life experiences and emotions. For Ans, painting is not only an end result, but also a process of letting go and embracing life in all its facets.
