About this artwork
I ran out of the 2' by 2' cut masonite and need to get over to home Depot to have some more cut. But I still have some smaller cuts i.e. !' by 1 and 1/2' left but am quickly using up those as well. One nice thing about working on a rectangular board vs. a square board is that it changes the visual dynamics and in a good way. Still, I am still early in my free form painting technique. Inspired by his father, painter and photographer Ben Hotchkiss started with watercolors and then moved onto oils. Embracing the concept of a visual explorer, Hotchkiss develops an experimental and intuitive style, unafraid to indulge creative impulses. His artwork graced the cover and interior article of Non Profit magazine in Winter 2008.
