About this artwork
This work is part of my CONTINUUM series. I work with the circle as a recurring form that connects movement, concentration, and cohesion. The circular form emerges from a soft, flowing color space and develops gradually from the painting process.
I layer nuanced shades of rose and pink on top of each other. The colors condense, then open up again, revealing the creative process. This creates a calm yet vibrant depth that doesn't appear static,… but rather remains in motion.
I use gold as a constant, structuring element. It appears fragmented within the circle, reflects the light, and changes its effect depending on the viewing angle. The metal marks density and forms a deliberate contrast to the soft colors.
I keep the center simple and calm. It functions as a stable core within the movement and represents the coming together of all layers to form a whole.
Bettina Hervatin primarily uses acrylic paints combined with textured materials and metallic accents. Following intensive training with Petra Thölken, she has consistently developed her artistic style. Her painting technique unites multi-layered color compositions, organic forms, fluid transitions, and a skillful balance of tranquility and energy, combining planning with spontaneous use of materials. In her abstract works, she impressively conveys a harmonious interplay of inner peace and powerful vitality, opening up space for viewers' own associations and feelings.
