An iconic symbol of northern lakes, the loon embodies quiet peace, connection to the inner world, and the call of the sacred. In many traditions, it is seen as a guide between worlds, capable of plunging into invisible depths and bringing forth truth.
For ByAsh, the loon is much more than a source of inspiration: it is the bird of the heart.
Its cry, at once mysterious, powerful,… and fragile, stirs the soul. At night, on the lake, its song pierces the silence, awakening an intimate and almost mystical presence. This suspended moment becomes a ritual of listening, an invitation to fully experience the wild beauty of the instant.
In this work, ByAsh offers a vision of the loon that is both realistic and dreamlike. It glides nobly over a background of vibrant waters, woven with turquoise, emerald, and abstract textures painted with a palette knife, including symbolic elements.
