About this artwork
In this work, created with acrylics, I wanted to express inner complexity through surreal forms that seem to flow and transform. I blend the power of Expressionism with the light of Impressionism to create a dreamlike and vibrant atmosphere. Each stroke seeks to convey the deep, organic energy that resides within, filling any space with mystery and intense emotion.
This work was part of the solo exhibition 'A Holographic Metaphor: Love, Peace and… Freedom' held at the Foundation for Regional Development, FUSADER, Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia, in 2018.
Camila Mejía, a Master of Fine Arts graduate from UIS in Colombia, explores painting, sculpture, and mosaic murals, fusing techniques such as acrylic paint, papier-mâché, mosaic art, and gold leaf from an abstract and organic surrealist perspective. Her works reveal multiple dimensions and play with space and geometry, evoking ancestral roots and chromatic vibrations. She seeks to provoke reflection and sensitivity, touching deep chords to transform the perception of reality and evoke an emotional connection with nature and the human essence.
