About this artwork
This work was inspired by natural elements, exploring the boundary between the bodily and constructed - where soft, folded forms resemble both fabric, living tissue and water.
The raw linen canvas is left exposed, emphasising material honesty while adding warmth and texture, allowing the painted form to emerge as something both embedded and detached, half in a state of quiet suspension.
I hope this piece inspires a sense of quiet transformation… and wonder, as that is how I felt while creating it.
« The purpose of art allows for a celebration of the creative aspects of the human spirit, expressing the beauty of wonder and freedom as well as instilling insight to the viewer. »
