About this artwork
In crafting this piece, I unleashed a flurry of emotions onto the canvas, channeling the raw energy of a marathon. The vibrant acrylic hues dance in abstraction, symbolizing the perpetual motion of life's journey. It's an expressionist celebration of determination and the vivid splashes of color embody the spirit of endurance. This painting will bring a burst of inspirational energy and a touch of bold dynamism to any space.
« Painting is transformative, mysterious, spiritual, and grounding for me. Painting, like dancing, is able to express the ineffable and is therefore very satisfying to me. »
Following a career spanning over fifty years as a choreographer and dancer, Cindy Bernier's passion to paint was born of an immediate and direct love of movement, music, and color. The American artist finds the act of painting spiritually fulfilling and sensual, as well as deeply mysterious. Bernier's abstract works are created with the concept of using paint as 'the movement of strokes', of which the physical application is both visceral and intuitive.
Cindy Bernier, a life-long dancer, explores paint as movement on canvas. She is fascinated by the process of translating movement dynamics through mark making and layers of color. Her paintings are in private collections in Connecticut, New York, Florida, Arkansas, Washington, New Jersey, California, Switzerland and Italy.
