About this artwork
In this painting, two storks move in a graceful flow, holding a delicate golden thread — an almost invisible connection that ties their past and leads them into the future.
The stork, a national symbol of Ukraine, carries a deep personal meaning for the artist, Daria Ivashchenko. Its yearly migration — always moving forward yet finding the way home — mirrors her own journey. Though separated from her homeland, she remains rooted in her origins,… following her thread of fate with strength and hope.
The reflective gold leaf background shifts with the light, embodying change, time, and endurance. Thread of Fate is a meditation on memory, movement, and the quiet power of continuing forward.
I am a Ukrainian artist, holding a bachelor's degree in Cultural Events Directing from Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. Furthering my passion for art, I pursued Contemporary Art at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts. Since 2013, art has been my full-time dedication. I am portraying the delicate harmony between terrestrial flora and the enigmatic depths of aquatic fauna. My work goes beyond the surface, exploring the subconscious and the intertwined connection between humanity and nature. Deeply personal, my art is a reflection of my own life experiences, shaping the narratives and emotions embedded in work. This personal influence adds layers of depth, making each piece a unique exploration of my evolving identity.
