The story behind the painting “divided waves” tells of an inner conflict and the search for harmony in diversity. The different colors and structures that stretch across the canvas symbolize different emotions and phases of life.
The upper pink and purple waves represent the gentle but stormy moments of life - times of joy, hope, but also uncertainty. The texture is reminiscent of water that is constantly moving and changing, a symbol of change… and the unpredictability of life.
The lower fields, separated by black lines, suggest the order that people often seek in chaos and emotions. The red area symbolizes passion and energy, but also a challenge to find balance. The blue geometric shapes radiate calm and stability, but are in stark contrast to the vibrant colors and dynamism of the rest of the image.
