About this artwork
There is indeed a wonderful, historic castle near Cappenberg, which I painted here. I often went there. I wanted to capture the quiet magic of an autumn day, where Impressionism and Realism merge. The warm colors convey the gentle melancholy of decay, while the architectural details suggest stability and history. My aim was to create a peaceful atmosphere that brings warmth and security into the home. This painting invites you to linger and dream.
