About this artwork
This a 3d mixed piece that is a part of my Maskinomics series. In this piece, I explore duality and identity using vibrant acrylics and textured objects, blending figurative and semi-abstract elements. The intertwined faces reflect the complexity of self, while the rich colors and intricate patterns evoke emotion and depth. This artwork brings a powerful energy, inviting reflection on the layers we wear and the beauty within contrasts. We all wear… the mask until we are ready to reveal ourselves.
Dion Pollard, a mostly self-taught artist who studied at the American Art Institute for 1 year, masterfully balances painting, sculpting, mixed media, and digital work. His techniques merge meticulously painted acrylics with 3D sculptural elements—cloth for flowing clothing, rope for lifelike hair—creating immersive, tactile pieces that blur boundaries between 2D and 3D art. Through his detailed, blended style and seamless material combinations, he brings to life figurative, abstract, and landscape themes. His art radiates hope, spirituality, and positivity, inviting viewers to see the world’s beauty and possibility.
