About this artwork
In this work I combine the vibrancy of comics, the simplicity of primitivism and the energy of pop art. Using acrylic on canvas, I have recreated the bold graphic of a page of text that remains familiar yet enigmatic. The dynamic black lines on a cream background represent text that symbolizes both communication and mystery. This work challenges the viewer to consider what communication means in our modern, information-saturated world. It brings… a strong, thoughtful presence to any space.
Elisabeth Ortner, a background painter, works mainly with acrylic on canvas. She uses techniques of sketching on everyday materials, projects the sketches onto the screen and lets them come to life. Her artistic styles reflect a preference for clear shapes and bright colors. Through her lively creations, she strives to spread happiness and good humor.
