Self Soothe is an intimate exploration of the psychological weight of the past and the necessity of emotional liberation. The work depicts a figure in a moment of heavy vulnerability, reclining on a bed while grappling with the unchangeable mistakes of yesterday. It serves as a visual narrative on the struggle to release past burdens in order to obtain the peace of mind required to embrace a positive future. The piece… emphasizes that healing is an intentional act, requiring us to authorize ourselves to regulate our emotional states and relieve the anxieties that hold us back.
The composition utilizes a somber yet warm palette, with deep shadows and expressive brushwork that mirror the complexity of the subject's internal dialogue. By isolating the figure in such a private, domestic space, the painting invites the viewer to
