About this artwork
Since I was four years old, the piano has held a very special place in my life. Free improvisation takes me into a dimension that is difficult to grasp. An image, an experiment.

Gabriel Fluri discovered art early on – without a television at home, but with plenty of space for creative expression through drawing, painting, and music. In addition to fine art, his training in metalworking also influences his work: it enables him to translate artistic visions into metal with artisanal precision.
His work is strongly inspired by the nature of his homeland in the Swiss foothills of the Alps. More recently, however, social issues have become more of a focus – particularly questions of responsibility, decisions, and their consequences from a male perspective. Whether two- or three-dimensional, Fluri's works create space for one's own interpretations and emotions: "My art is not intended to focus solely on beauty and aesthetics. It is intended to allow the audience to become part of the art, and art to become part of the viewer."
