About this artwork
This painting has evolved over many years to coincide with my changing interests as a painter. When viewing in person one can see the way the piece has been collaged together, with pieces of canvas adhered together and painted papers collage into the surface to create a richly layered and textured painting. The surface is very matte, with the black areas dropping back and the brightly colored symbolic shapes pushing forward.
