About this artwork
As often happens with my intuitive approach to painting, as I was moving paint around the canvas--laying it on, drawing into it--a dominant shape emerged and pushed forward. In this case it was clearly a figure, an awkward, painterly, white torso. The maelstrom of letters, shapes and colors in place of the head nods to the excessive content that our brains cannot contain or process.
