About this artwork
This is a six-foot wide, impressionist oil painting of a fresh early morning on a Loch in the highlands of Scotland.
There are subtle colours right across the scene of pinks and very light-yellow hues amongst the blue tones of the sky which has reflected in a startling way across the pattens of the ripples of waves in the loch
On the background of this painting, you can see the heather, right across the cairngorm mountains with all the rich colours… of an Autumnal day highlighted in the morning sun.
On the distant banks on the right- and left-hand sides there are ancient Scots Pine forests which are reflecting in the water.
The foreground is dominated by a pine tree and more heather which are textured to give the viewer an atmosphere of realism, so they can get lost in this scene, as if they are there.
Altogether in this scene I have captured the pure beauty and spirt of Loch Morlich with its magical light off an early morning sun.
« Hopefully my paintings portray the pure joy I feel towards my life's work. »
