About this artwork
In this work, I establish a relationship between two people that is open to interpretation – is it a chance encounter, a recognition, or is there a spell of emotions taking place here? The experimental use of acrylic paints and cement creates structures,
that captivate the eye, while dark blue and white tones create a play of light and shadow, accentuated by copper sheen. This semi-abstract, figurative painting depicts an encounter between two figures… caught in a moment of silence and reflection. I wanted to explore the complexity of human relationships and the inner connection we can experience despite apparent distance. The muted hues and the robust texture of the cement lend the painting a presence that inspires thoughtfulness and a deeper consideration of interpersonal relationships.
