About this artwork
Wings of the Night
The painting "Wings of the Night" opens a space between darkness and light. The deep, almost black structures appear like mighty wings. They cut through the invisible, spreading silently across a landscape hovering between memory and dream.
Those who allow themselves to be touched by them feel the infinite vastness. It's as if the wings of the night glide not only through the air, but also through the soul.
Irmgard Risch is a Swiss painter. Coming from a family of artists, she has been involved in creative work since her early youth. This has shaped her inner connection to art. Her abstract works express the interplay of light, shadow, and stillness. Inspired by nature, memory, and emotion, she transforms color and structure, layer upon layer, into atmospheres. She is self-taught, supplemented by various continuing education courses and exhibitions. She primarily uses acrylic, oil, chalk, charcoal, pigments, and structural materials on canvas. Her technique consists of the complex construction of color layers, with drawing and painting merging into exciting, transparent surfaces. She creates works full of depth that convey change, memory, and a mysterious sea of emotions, particularly evoking longing and the mystical.
