About this artwork
In this work, I sought to explore the complexity of human emotions through an abstract composition, using acrylics to layer rich textures and deep colors. The intertwined geometric shapes and contrasts of light and shadow invite reflection on the internal dynamics that drive us. Each viewer can see a mirror of their own feelings, transforming the space of their home into a sanctuary of inner contemplation.

J-Claude Bernard is a prizewinning painter from Réunion with national exposure and work held in permanent collections worldwide. Working with a palette knife and acrylics, Bernard superimposes layers of soft colors and gestural forms to create abstract paintings that evoke a sense of movement and calm. On his canvases, human forms and gentle landscapes appear organically, sometimes almost hidden among the textured brush strokes.
