About this artwork
The artist in this work wanted to continue this series at the end of 2020 and thus close in a major format for him these meetings full of nostalgia following the pandemic.
« There is a magical moment when the will seems to diverge in favor of an image that is essential. »
J-Claude Bernard is a prizewinning painter from Réunion with national exposure and work held in permanent collections worldwide. Working with a palette knife and acrylics, Bernard superimposes layers of soft colors and gestural forms to create abstract paintings that evoke a sense of movement and calm. On his canvases, human forms and gentle landscapes appear organically, sometimes almost hidden among the textured brush strokes.
