About this artwork
“Archaeology of Tomorrow”
80 x 120, earth and mixed media
In the bas-relief, a microchip is kept at the center of an archaic structure, like a fragment of a lost cult. The device, once the beating heart of technology, now lies silent, deactivated, transformed into a relic.
The work reflects on the fate of systems: their inevitable obsolescence and the metamorphosis from functional objects to testimonies of past knowledge.
The composition, marked… by a primordial and ritual language, evokes a sense of bewilderment and at the same time an initiatory journey, in which the material itself seems to sediment the memory of time.
In the dialogue between archaic structure and technological fragment, a poetic tension is born: technology, now fossilized, becomes idol and remnant, a sign of a civilization that has dissolved, leaving traces of itself in the substratum of matter.
A fragment of the future, returned as a relic of the past.

Jacopo Berlendis, architect and painter, explores the fusion between design and art by cultivating natural and transformative themes. He uses earth and vegetation, modeling them in three-dimensional works which with acrylics and pigments interpret landscapes animated by a powerful physicality. His creations evoke a feeling of regeneration, revealing underground worlds of sublime material metamorphosis.
