About this artwork
I fell in love with Morocco, the people, the towns, the smell and the Souks. The theme of my work is inspired by my passion for beauty and shaped by my imagination and personal experiences. This can be seen in the Marrakesh series where luminosity and atmosphere are more important than figures, which are more essence than substance. In this oil painting, the pushing and haggling atmosphere demands that the viewer stop and observe.

Jenifer Carey is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United Kingdom. Music, especially jazz, is one of the main recurring themes in her art. Carey employs engraving and sculptural techniques for the faces of her subjects, whose hands and movements are always expressive. In addition, she portrays her observations and life experiences in order to "capture a moment". She creates using oils on canvas.
