About this artwork
I wanted to capture the vibrant essence of jazz, its pulsating rhythm and the passion of the musicians. Through expressionism, I captured in this work vigor and emotion in unison, like a visual melody in gravel. The figures are more than strokes: they are the soul of a symphony of earthy colors, bringing the strength and energy of jazz to any space where it is presented.

Jenifer Carey is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United Kingdom. Music, especially jazz, is one of the main recurring themes in her art. Carey employs engraving and sculptural techniques for the faces of her subjects, whose hands and movements are always expressive. In addition, she portrays her observations and life experiences in order to "capture a moment". She creates using oils on canvas.
