About this artwork
This watercolor was painted with largely non-toxic, homemade watercolor paints.
The atmosphere of approaching summer, with its dazzling light and clear sky, on the Baltic Sea coast of Poland. Time stands still, and the boy pauses, gazing at the sea. He feels only the wind, hears the sound of the waves, and perceives their movements, both innocent and awestruck. The image represents vitality, freedom, hope, and boundlessness. An online tutorial for… this image will follow soon, likely in January 2026.
Joanna Hamulski works with watercolors, oil paints, and pastels, which she makes herself from environmentally friendly pigments, drawing on a rich background in art history and restoration. She prefers watercolor painting, varies between realistic and expressive styles, and loves to experiment with effects without committing to a single technique. Her works invite the viewer to leave everyday life behind, draw strength from nature, and find inner harmony.
