About this artwork
A work exploring the presence of the divine through light and color.
Belongs to the Presence series — a body of work conceived as concentrated manifestation. Presence reflects on the immanence of the divine, where light gathers into a centered field of color, holding both intensity and stillness.
Rather than dispersing across space, the composition draws inward, forming a luminous core that sustains quiet tension and depth. The work invites sustained… looking, allowing presence to emerge through perception itself.
Executed with acrylic and mixed media on fine art paper and protected with museum-grade acrylic glass, the surface reveals depth and refined luminosity. The work is presented in a treated natural oak wood frame and is ready to hang. A hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
“An image for the divine in our time.” — Jonas Peres
Jonas Peres is a Spanish visual artist based in Madrid, Spain, trained at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), with advanced studies in Modern Art at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. His practice reflects a sustained inquiry into how art history has represented the sacred. Rooted in this investigation and informed by his studies in History and Divinity at Yale University, Peres seeks to reimagine an image for the divine within contemporary visual culture. Through luminous chromatic fields and subtle horizons, he creates immersive atmospheres where light and depth generate presence rather than narrative. In dialogue with the spiritual gravity of Mark Rothko and the cultural immediacy of Andy Warhol, his work moves between emotional abstraction and contemporary awareness. He has exhibited during the period of the Venice Biennale and at Art Basel Miami.
