About this artwork
The spiral of the universe symbolizes life itself - constantly in motion, always unpredictable. At some point, we all face a moment where we ask ourselves: Do we let ourselves drift, or do we take control of our destiny? This tension between the inevitable and the possibility of changing direction is what makes the work so powerful.
Kamila Hyo Hlobil works primarily in oil paint and, as a self-taught painter, is influenced by her artistically inspired upbringing. She uses glazing techniques to create multi-layered surfaces and atmospheric color schemes, skillfully balancing figurative and abstract elements, and consciously creating her works. Her works are narrative, silent visual worlds that convey emotional depth, quiet intensity, and open space for individual interpretation – they allow one to sense silence and the invisible within the visible.
