About this artwork
At first glance, this piece appears to be forged from raw metal—textured, weathered, and industrial. Yet on closer inspection, it reveals an unexpected twist: the entire composition is crafted from carefully treated plastic, transformed into a material that convincingly mimics aged metal.
Set against a warm, rust-toned backdrop, the central grid is built from hundreds of individually shaped fragments. Each element is cut, layered, and manipulated… by hand, creating a rich three-dimensional surface full of depth, movement, and contrast. Subtle tones of bronze, charcoal, deep red, and metallic hues interact with light, constantly shifting the perception of the work throughout the day.
