About this artwork
3rd work from the Sinapse series. Dripping style enamel and acrylic background on canvas. Abstract expressionism, without any figurative representation.
Abstraction on thematic concept:
Maxuxa is a local term used by the people of Sesimbra that designates a bundle of fishing threads that are left coiled after being used. It is also used to designate something that is complicated to sort out. This allegory between the name "Maxuxa" and the pictorial… abstraction taken from this work "Synapse" is also for me a recognition that even things that seem to be simpler in life have as much value as the more complex ones, kneading bread, is as worthy as performing a surgery or as erecting a brick wall, that no one is excluded or excluded, we are all valid, even if sometimes life is in a "maxuxa".
« I want to be able to recreate not what I see, but what I feel, because the essential is invisible to the eyes. »
