About this artwork
“One day, if I were to lose my memory, would I forget my feelings as I forget images?”
With this question in mind, Madam P created Metruk Hafıza (“Deserted Memory”), a work from her series Ayyuka-yı Hafıza (“The Zenith of Memory”).
An artist who often seeks answers to her own questions through her works, she explores in this piece Henri Bergson’s concept of “duration” and Marcel Proust’s idea of “the corroding memories of the past,” bringing them… to the surface—to the zenith—in an act of confrontation.
« Art is a translation of the unwritten text of the past and future. »
Madam P is a Danish/Turkish artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Denmark, France, the United States, Japan, India, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Italy. Since she believes that life is a journey that is open to constant change, so is her art. Madam P's vibrant compositions are created in series with the constant being her bold color choices and use. Her artworks are based on forgetting the past and starting over with happiness and peace.
