About this artwork
In my series of paintings inspired by Rumi, I delve into the profound spiritual and philosophical teachings of the great poet and mystic. Rumi's origins in Afghanistan resonate deeply with me, adding a layer of personal connection to his work. His words have a transcendent quality that moves me, particularly his exploration of human suffering and beauty. Through Rumi's wisdom, I have found a way to navigate my internal conflicts and complexities.…
When I create art, I often enter a trance-like state, and Rumi's words provide a fitting explanation for this state of being. One quote that particularly resonates with me is, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." These words encapsulate the essence of my journey, both as an artist and as an individual seeking deeper understanding and connection.

Manaz Raiszadeh is an artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the United States. Referring to herself as an "intuitionist abstract painter", the genesis of her artistic inspiration comes from her parent's tale and her Afghani cultural background. Raiszadeh often depicts houses and villages in her compositions, as she believes that "we can all relate to the place where we are from". She creates using acrylics, pastels, and collage on canvas or wood.
